[MechWarrior Kazuki Kintaro]

Hay guys!

It is 00:35 hrs, and I have just finished my evening working at Middle Name Productions. MNP is the movie production house that I do concept and storyboard art with as a second job outside of my day job. Anyways, it kind of dawned on me that I've been harping on about the place without going into much detail. So, instead of posting my OP post (expect it tomorrow ), I have decided to show you a taste of what we do.

Here's a brief intro and showreel from MNP director and co-founder, Matt Jaems.



Basically, MNP is a fledgling company at the moment. In spite of that, they already have two movies under their belts (The Receptionist and Room to Breathe). The sound dept has also produced BGM for one official Red Cross UK video and another advertisment for the new ICE train system connecting Birlin to Moenchengladbach.

Were do I come into all of this? I'm not sure how much I'm supposed to say really. I'm working on concept art for MNP's 3rd project. All I can say right now is that it will be a cop drama based in Moenchengladbach and that the budget will be 4 times as much as the previous film 'Room to Breathe'. Here's a sneek previous I have prepared:



It's funny really, because although I release I am essentially working for a b-movie company, the amount of support MNP has had from outside parties is amazing. We have beer supplied by Becks for our major events. Two of the four offices we have are paid for by the town. The mayor of Moenchengladbach has been a keen driving force behind us. MNP also has connections to several media production houses in London as well as a video editor that comes out to work on the projects. We even had the still photographer from 'The Constant Gardner' come in to do several photo shoots for Room to Breathe.

So far it has been a fantastic rollercoaster of a ride. I'd like to leave you with a trailer for MNP's second movie 'Room To Breathe', which will be released in cinemas this summer (I expect only a local release, but still, it's exciting!). Enjoy.

Awesome work Keith, I'm still amazed that you can find time to post on here between your day job, your essentially full time second job at MNP, and then whatever you end up doing in what little free time I imagine you have on a weekly basis.

I'm still jealous of your drawing talents and trying to work out a device that'll let me borrow them for a bit, lol. Great art work though, judging from the number of pics on that wall I'd say you've been pretty busy. I can't wait to see more of this new production MNP is working on. And regardless of whether they are a "b-movie" company or not, its still pretty amazing to be able to watch a movie of any kind and see your own name in the credits somewhere.

That's amazing Kieth. Even with the intensive hours (by the looks of that wall you're keeping pretty busy ), that looks like great, engaging work to be involved in! I'll certainly try to get my hands on MNP's work.

After two and a bit weeks of non-stop work, I have finally finished my first major MNP art project - and it's not even movie related!



I used Eiichiro Oda of 'One Piece' fame as inspiration for the piece. 'Driving' the giant seagul is director Matt Jaems (not a typo ¬_¬). Holding the boom mic is audio composer Dan Shuttlewood. Finally, producer Billy Clark is plotting out their coarse.

This piece will be blown up and printed onto UV protected woodboard and hung up outside the main offices.

Its 22:20 and I wish I had more to say about this picture. To be honest, I think the only thing I can muster is that I'm relieved that it's finished!

Right, time to write a post I think!!

Reminds me of the days I used to ride a giant seagull around town. Good times, those.

Also, although I mostly work outdoors, I'd be lying if I said I'd never used a computer at work to catch up with you guys' posts. <.<

Wow, quite impressive! I decided to drop in and see how things were going and my-oh-my have things been... well, going.

Very nice drawings, Kazuki. If only I had more vivid words to describe it, but it's getting late and I'm getting lazy.

In case you are wondering - Yes, it does hurt. LOL!

I've not been to MNP obviously because of it. However, I've been told several drawings I have done of the people that work in the office have been hung up! When I get there, I'll be sure to take a picture and post it on here

Hope your foot is healing up well, it definately doesn't look like it would be too comfortable, on the plus side it could give you some interesting canvas to draw on if its not too uncomfortable to write on it, lol.

Halt! Hammer zeit!



The current state of my desk. I'm working on something very important that I cant talk about (but I really want to). Instead, I'll talk about something else.



My artwork has been published in a local magazine! My boss for my day time job called me in and said "Is this yours?". I couldnt believe it actually. I mean, I know it's a shitty local magazine that only a handful of people read, but still I was chuffed to rocks!

Anyways, I should be writing more here but I'm starting on a post now...
