Wow, its been a while since I posted here!

There has been an update of sorts. I say that because I've been sworn to secrecy on certain things, but what I can tell you is that we're still into full swing with producing viral videos. As far as things go with the third movie project, it's still in pre-production stages. Funding has been granted and MNP is talking over final negotiations.

On a more personal note, I've had an interesting developement. MNP is now running an intern program for young school leavers and I have been asked to act as a supervisor of sorts for these interns. So along with creating concept and storyboard art, I am also acting as a big brother to all the interns that flood into our offices. It's a really exciting time because the building is filled with lots of people doing lots of work! The only downside is, I've had to produce five official documents in accordance with the insurance policy we took out for the interns.

Basically, I've ended up doing more admin than art these past 4 or 5 days! Exciting!!! :D

I am going to be enjoying my first weekend off in a while (my sick leave with my foot operation doesnt count! ;) ). I am looking forward to it!!

I'll be trying to do a post either Sunday or Monday!

Cheers, Keith

So you're sheparding interns for the next few weeks? Months? Honestly that sounds like the kind of shenanigans I'd enjoy at work - Moulding new crew members to my own twisted tastes and desires. You know, the usual.

As for being sworn to secrecy, it's okay. We have sodium pentathol for that, right lads? Posted Image

Well I wasn't going to straight to the sodium pentathol right away, I was actually going to try and trick him with candy but I guess we can go right to the good stuff, lol.

Anyways, it sounds like things are going great for you over at MNP, they're keeping you busy and now either are willing to let you be in control of a miniature army, or simply don't realize the shennanigans you could potentially get into with that many people under your command, lol.

I'm glad to hear things are going well for you though, so are you still working the other job on top of the MNP one?

(Blows the dust off this topic and takes a seat)

Wow, it's been freaking ages since I've written anything here. To be honest, if I wrote here every day, there would be a couple 'this might be happening' sentences. That wouldn't be much of a blog now, would it?

So here goes...

Oh yeah, I don’t have any pictures or videos to post right now, so yeah… sorry!

MNP has been granted a €12,000 contract by Borussia Moenchengladbach to produce three viral video shorts for Internet and local cinema release. We had our first production meeting last night (Mon 9th August), and it seems that we’ll be working on a tight schedule. The first video will be ready around the beginning/middle of September with the second and third following suit after that. The entire thing will be completed around the beginning of October. Needless to say, this is extremely exciting!

What’s my role in all of this? I’ve co-created the viral ideas with Producer/Director Matt Jaems as well as supplied the concept artwork. In the next month, I’ll mainly be storyboarding as well as helping out wherever my creativity is needed. Basically, what I’m trying to say is that I’ll be living on energy drinks for the rest of this month!

What’s next on my stuff to talk about? I’m literally just going through my notes and calendar right now; just bare with me a second here. Okay, sorry about that.

Room to Breathe – MNP’s second movie is undergoing the ADR and Foley processes. Basically, we’re adding extra dialogue and sounds to make everything sound spanking gorgeous. ADR is currently being conducted by Matt Jaems and Freddy Awesome (that’s my name for him because I balls’d up and forgot his last name. Basically, I’m trying to explain that his last name isn’t really ‘Awesome’). Foley is being conducted by Tom Evans (I remembered his last name. Sorry Mr Awesome). The entire process has been pretty epic so far. I’ve sat in on a couple ADR sessions and I’ve listened to Mr Evan’s Foley and I can honestly say that Room to Breathe is really taking shape. I’ve still not seen it yet as I’ve been placed in MNP quarantine to be experimented on as a member of the ‘test audience’ to see how it fares with the public. It’s going to be sweet!

Finally, I’m going to talk about me for a moment. Yeah I know, ain’t I a selfish prick?

The office I work in has undergone several changes. Things have been moved around to the point where you can hardly recognise things – all for the better I might add. It’s really starting to look awesome. It has a nice relaxing ‘play room’ feel to it and yet we’re able to host meetings in there without feeling uncomfortable about our surroundings (i.e., it’s not unprofessional looking!). Perhaps the biggest change the room has undergone is the removal of me. No seriously. I don’t work in there anymore.

Last Friday, I got called into the Producers’ office by Matt to discuss a few things. The Producers’ office is perhaps the second most professional office in MNP HQ (the first being the Director’s office). We sat down at the grand, pristinely glimmering of the twin glass desks and began to discuss the finer points of hard work and rewards, to which Matt ended the conversation with “… so with that in mind, this is your new desk.”. It was quite an indescribable feeling. I had been working on a small wooden desk in the corner of a room and suddenly I was sat before this giant, expensive, very executive looking glass desk. I was immediately overcome with happiness but there was also a twinge of sadness. AJ, Matt’s PA and fellow artist had been my desk neighbour for over a month (coincidently I share a flat with him) and I was going to have to say goodbye to him. The War Room itself had become my home away from home; a place I had helped shape and make homely, a place to sleep during those 3am shifts, the very office that opened it’s arms and gave me a warm inviting hug during those cold winter evenings - I was going to have to say goodbye to it. Most importantly, I had been working with that small wooden desk for near on 8 months, creating every single MNP drawing on it’s surface. Blood, sweat and manly tears had not only been poured onto it – it had all soaked into the grain. And sadly, it was time to say goodbye. For me, the moving office has been a pretty hesitant experience. It might have something to do with the fact that I don’t actually have a key to my new office yet, but that isn’t very dramatic sounding…

In fact, that whole last part was pretty retarded. Sorry.

Just to reiterate – I’m moving office. I’m a little sad but the War Room is literally around 5-8 steps away from my new office, so I’m actually being very melodramatic about the entire thing. I feel ridicules. Sorry…

Wow, what a way to end a blog. Play me off Keyboard Cat!

Thats awesome Keith, glad to hear how well everything is going for you. Sounds like MNP is going to continue to be very busy and productive and thats always good, even if it requires living off energy drinks for a while, lol. Congratulations on the promotion as well, even if its just a new office and fancy glass desk if not in title. Sounds like your having a great time there still and I hope everything keeps going well.
