The former commander of the Fourth Viper Guards and the leader of Bloodname House Andrews, Brett Andrews is by all accounds a fervent Crusader. He is arrogant, aggressive, quick to anger and regarded by many as a harsh commander. He is also a canny politician, as shown by his promotion to saKhan despite the debacle of the 3057 raid on Cumbres, when Inner Sphere troops defeated warriors from his Cluster.

Andrews' ability to escape political harm and ruthlessly crush his foes prompted Khan Zalman to select him for the junior Khan post. Zalman also respects saKhan Andrews' willingness to speak his mind and argue for what he believes; though inexperienced, Andrews is no sycophant. Andrews is known to have argued with Zalman more than once, most notably over the senior Khan's continued association with Natalie Breen. The Khan expects great things of Andrews, but is also wary of his ambition.
