Summer Mandaka was an old MechWarrior who had a history of insubordination. She had fair, a chiseled strongly featured face. She was sent to be in the tainted Falcon Guards because of her bad attitude. Although she herself had a record of disobeying orders, she could not handle it when her subordinates did the same.

Irritated with MechWarior Rollan's lack of obedience, she asked Star Colonel Aidan Pryde if she could fight him in a Trial of Grievance. Aidan Pryde did not think it was an important issue, but he allowed them to carry the Trial.

They decided on 'Mech combat. Since she had lost so many 'Mechs in the past, Mandaka decided to make her 'Mech's ejection seat inoperative. The two 'Mechs fought a close battle. Finally Summer Mandaka killed MechWarrior Rollan with a shot of lasers to his Timber Wolf's cockpit. As Aidan was going to declare her the winner, missile ammunition in Mandaka's overheated Hellbringer blew and the force of the explosion sent her 'Mech downward and she was crushed to death in the impact since she disabled the pilot ejection system on her 'Mech and could not escape.
