Drake makes a dashing entrance into the bar, highlighted by his leather Aero-pilot flight jacket designed in the Federated Suns tradition, complete with an ancient WWI style scarf.

Barkeep, a pint of English ale if you would please.

Drake gets an odd look from the barkeep at first, likely due to his somewhat extravag
By the way, props on the comic. You've got some talent there.
Ok, you've got my attention with this. It kind of reminds me of something I used to do several years ago.

My only question is how far can one go with the technology. I'm somewhat familiar with Arcanum, but are we talking about getting into modern weapons, or even something of a more futuristic flare? I do like the idea of combining an 18th century look and feel to and energy weapon....something that sort of resembles a flintlock but fires an energy bolt. Or a vibro-blade with
I'll be happy to get started with it (and continue on here) in a few days, once my schedule settles down a bit.
Hey everyone, just thought I'd introduce my character here. I go by Drake "Risky" Sinclair, and I'm hoping to apply for a position here as a new aero-jock. I also have a knack for covert ops and infantry ground-pounds outside of the cockpit, which coincidently put one of my greatest passions (hand-to-hand combat training) to good use. (Now I hope that's not too much of a skill repertoire for a new character. I don't want to come off as some uber-warrior with mad skillz
Thanks. Glad to be here.

Ja, I figured I'd just copy the rank/loadout format you all use and throw something comical in there for the time being. I wasn't sure if I am to pick my own craft, or it is assigned to me, being that I'm new to the unit and all. Plus, I don't really have much information as to how aero-fighters are loaded out anyway. I did download the specs on something called a Shiva from the CBT page....looks pretty mean so I'm not sure if you al
Hey thanks, that Chaos March site really is something else. I never expected to find all that info on one site. I'll play with that Vehicle Factory a bit, but I'll probably go with old Inner Sphere Aero-type for use in campaigns.
Tough question, but I'll see which ones I can remember.

I actually started reading Battletech quite late in the overall storyline. It was the beginning of the FedCom Civil War, and I think the first one I read was the very first featering Archer Christifori....Measure of a Hero I think. Then I tried to pick up each one that came out after that. I remember Flashpoint, Test of Vengeance, and Path of Glory. Then I sort of lost track of the series and never finished it to the end of t
Wow, I have a hard time imagining all the novels in one collection. I bet that involved a whole lot of ebay action.

So I suppose you have yet to get to the one about the Nova Cats and Draconis Combine, and then the one with the Ghost Bear Elemental. Those were especially fun.
I was just wondering, does anyone ever write with more than one character? I was thinking of using a second character, perhaps someone that Drake would already know.
Sounds good. I don't know if I'll bring in another character for sure, but I'll keep the option open. I would most likely bring in a mechwarrior since Drake is an aero-jock. I'd find a way to work it into the story. Maybe we'll come across survivors from another mech unit on the op....I can't say for certain.
I should be ready come Monday. But is the Aero-wing ready for me? *dons WWI style scarf and goggles*

Also, being that I'm new to this, I'm just going to sort of follow along at first, and not have my character jump out there too much during the op. Are there any other preparations I should be making in the meantime?
I went and did the dossier thing. I really started getting into it and got a little carried away, but it was fun as hell.

Heh, Drake is a blue-blood. Sort of.
Sounds good.

You know, I haven't read all the FedCom Civil War books either, but if a person really wants to fill in the gaps in the story, there are plenty of other sources out there to get the information. I'm not advocating ruining the books or anything. It's just handy sometimes. Reading all those little "news headlines" while playing MW4: Mercs really fills you in on a lot, and gives you a pretty complete picture if you go back and play for both sides. It se
Name: Drake Anton Sinclair

History: Born on New Syrtis to a semi-affluent family near the conclusion of the Fourth Succession War, Drake Sinclair came of age just in time (for better or worse) to experience the full effect of the Clan Invasions into the Inner Sphere. Well it's good to know we aero-jocks are appriciated. Thanx. laugh.gif
Hey, at least now I know who your alter-ego is....the guy that looks like an assault-rifle equipped Reptile from Mortal Kombat.

Honestly, I can't remember what Ares Lance is supposed to do for an objective now. I'm reluctant to go much further with the plot other than splashing a few bogies and scouting around.
Ares Lance is on a union break then.

*Lands fighter and gets a Coke.*
I've been off my pace as well....seems just one thing after another gets me here on my end. If it's not school, I get sick, then the internet goes down, etc.

Hopefully I'll be able to get this thing going again. But until then....uh, see you on the flip side (something like that).
