The Digital Animation and Video Effects (DAVE) School is producing a short MechWarrior film for release this summer in cooperation with Wiz Kids. You can see the trailer at the link below. Enjoy!
I actually hope that one day there will be a full length Mech Warrior movie with a nice hollywood budget behind it
On a similar subject, i have heard (through word of mouth) that a Mech Assault 3 for the xbox 360 is in production. One of the main issues that they are concerning themselves is with the authentisity of the genre in the game and ive been told they have employeed researchers to help create a more authentic MA game.
Although i still think it will turn out like the arcady MA2. Dont get me wrong, i LOVE MA2, however now that im starting to get more into the BT world, i would like something more authentic rather than just a sci mech game that just uses the BT name.
Now that i think about it... has anyone seen the clips from Chromehounds, the upcoming 360 mech game that looks fantastic? No? then check this link out:
Good news about MechAssault 3, especially if they do a better job at connecting it with the BattleTech universe. The new MechAssault title for the Nintendo DS comes out next month I believe. As I've said before, I'd love to see a BattleTech game title that had both Mech simulation and Role-playing elements to it. Please Video Game Gods, hear my prayer!
I've heard about Chromehounds and it looks like it could be interesting. I haven't bought a 360 yet though. I usually don't get a new system until there is a game for it that I absolutely have to play. The price tag on the 360 is pretty steep too!
The Mad Cat IV, Mangonels, Anastasia Kerensky, Jonah Levin's upgraded Atlas, charging Battle Armor, and more pure-BattleTech-related goodness than you can shake a stick at! I can't believe what a great job they did translating the MW:AOD minis into fully-articulated CGI creations! This trailer was incredible!
Now, here's another tantalizing tidbit:
From www.mektek.net
"The latest update from LinkNet dropped something new in our laps. A combat photographer got a shot of a mech like unit totally unlike anything else we have in BattleTech. This unit I am refering to as a "Warmech" is huge, likely three times the size of an Atlas, and it has thee legs as well. That's right, THREE, not two, not four. From the report, this warmech has firepower to match it's size. There is not much more info on this, but we do have a (grainy) picture. The LinkNet Story."
