Egad!

Well as of late I've been piling through the histories in rich detail of the Innersphere as a whole. Backwards, forwards and so such and one thing that seems to have had the biggest impact upon the history of the galaxy was the Star League. Well you may be thinking, no duh, but consider what came because of it.

-The creation of the most advanced technology ever created in madkind's history, nearly a millinea later many things are still don't come close to compairing. Star League lostech is worth enough to make some one a god in C-bills.

-The Star League's contribution to furthering mankind such as terra forming worlds and establishing HPG stations.

-The exodus of the SLDF under Nicholas Kerensky and subsequently, the eventual formation of the clans and their technological advances.

-Comstar, the only surviving part of the original Star League and eventually the Inner Sphere's dependance upon them.

-The Star League gave a banner for the entire Inner Sphere to unite under in order to halt the Clans' invasion, preserving the great houses.

Now when the HPGs fail for some reason or another, the shit hits the fan in the worst way possible and the Republic of the Sphere collapses, but thats a different story. I was fascinated as to why the HPGs would all go out at the exact same time after centures of care and the dilligent hands of the techno-worshiping Comstar. Naturally this lead me to take a closer look at the organization's history and my findings were very interesting. Comstar has on more than one occasion held an interdiction over a few of the great houses, totally denying service to them. Such an oppurtunity as an entire relm ununified would pose as a wonderful chance to conquer it right? Well I found something that I did not know. Operation Scorpion. Comstar attempted to black out all of human space and conquer everything, even the clans! It failed miserably. But I thought that comstar was a neutral entity and didn't meddle like that. I wanted to know everything consequences, reactions, intentions and why would they attempt something like that as a critical time such as the clan invasion and the proxy battle at Tukayyid?

Comstar, as you know split into the WoB. Careful study of the two, compairison, contrast and more research yealded that I had quite a veiled veiw of Comstar as a whole and quite possibly a false veiw of the Word Of Blake too. Looky < Fascinating Opinions. I still don't have a motivation for as to why the HPGs were down but I do have the how. But now it no longer has the bulk of my intregue. If Comstar has played the large behind the scenes role that my research suggests, then my whole universe is flipped upside down!

Mind boggling. I suggest you give that link a read, it'll give you something to think about.

P.S. Did you know that the man that quelled the WoB Jihad and formed the Republic of the Sphere escaped from the very prison camp on Kittery we fled from the last Op? Craziness.
Astounding read. I was of the same mindset as you - until I read that eye-opener. Makes ComStar even more suspect in my opinion now.

Why yes. I did know that. wink.gif Glad someone picked up on the Easter egg I planted in the Op. wink.gif
Edgads, can I safely read this?
If you're nerd enough to understand it it'll offer you an interesting new veiw on the Word of Blake and Comstar.

Give it a read, you'll enjoy it I'm sure.
Ah, trust me, I'm knerd. I'm not through the series yet, still finishing up the Twilight of the Clans, and the fedcom war hasn't started yet... so am I going to learn about that war's results and stuff?
You don't know the history?

I haven't read a single book but I've researched quite a bit through numerous online data bases.

I guess if you appreciate the suprise that much you should book mark this thread and come back to it much later.
