That's fantastic keith! It's very cool to actually 'see' your characters.
That's a pretty good list, it also allows for lots of promotions beneath captaincy which is probably the highest ranking we'll go unless we reach Battalion size. It’d be nice if we could swap out MechWarrior for private because nowadays privates are called specialists and I’ve never heard of someone referred to as a private in any of the novels. We could also mimic the Lyran organization structure with Kommandants and such.
Ben,

I think that the Merc Field Manual has too few ranks for what we’re looking for. It would be best to maximize the number of ranks so that members can be rewarded for their quality of writing and commitment to the site, but they’re not all becoming Captains after their second op. With the manual’s ranking system a new member would go from being essentially a recruit to Captain in as few as six promotions, assuming that we begin with the rank recruit and then follow that with

I was tried, very tired. The duffel slammed down hard on my bed with a forceful thump and although it was surely inaudible in the adjacent quarters through the thick ferrocrete walls, I still cringed as the bag landed with more force than I’d intended; I had forgotten how much I had been carrying with me. The bag was full of a few personal effects, and a lot of trai
“God that feels weird.” I said as the doctor adjusted, poked and prodded my prosthetic forearm. The damn thing had quit on me shortly after our final battle and there were a lot of people with more serious needs than mine, so it had been a few days before the doctor could take a look at it, and he was no cyberneticist.

Merry Christmas to you kind sir, and know that I too am watching you. And don't forget, I know if you are sleeping, and I know if you are awake...
Ho Ho Ho!
Yeah man I'd love to see you back at the site, and no problem about your comeback, I'm sure we'll have something cooked up in no time.

Here's the thing guys, I don't know how many, or who the posters are, but it'd be nice if you guys would chill out with the rape and various other stuff in the Dreams of Avarice. They are, in my opinion, inappropriate for the site. Then again, I'm not the policy maker here. The poster may consider this character development, and perhaps it is, but I think they should find a better premise for that development.

Ah yes, that's a cool video. It's on www.battletech-movie.com along with a lot of other battletech videos.
And a happy new year from Seattle!

Sighing, I went over the mission data again—hopefully Maxwell would show. As if on cue, the briefing room's double oak doors parted revealing the Major.

"Do we know of the climate in which we will combat?"

Bringing up the lights, I nodded to the Major as he left the room. After an amusing and slightly awkward encounter with Sam Grisham, I was greeted by Holmes Net and Alex Thorn, recently promoted for his valor defending the retreating militia and Legionnaire forces during the Blake siege o
Seated in a cafeteria chair, I looked across the table at Krystal McLure. She looked very competent as a MechWarrior—she had the warrior’s poise.

“Well Ms. McLure, you certainly have the look of a MechWarrior about you, and Sergeant Thorn speaks of you highly—why don’t you join me in the simulator tomorrow so I can get to know your fighting style.”

En route to Sheratan JumpPoint…

A hard chime resounded down the deck corridor, bounding off of the various sharp angles inherent in all DropShips. It just so happened that I had decided to take a shortcut, avoiding the cargo crowded elevators, to the bridge through one of the ship's access conduits, but I doubted I could make the f

Our booted footsteps resounded down the Abbey's halls as we passed through colored beams of light. Walking a few paces behind the Major, I served as his aide-de-camp. Melee Battlemech combat was, for the most part, without finesse. What it lacked in fluidity and grace it made up for in brutality. There's nothing quite like multi-ton fists pulverizing a giant mechanical beast's head. However this particular situation was different, my Shadow Hawk and the Hatamoto-Chi were not in a slugfest; we were wrestling. <

Beneath the hidden Legionnaires a torrent of laser fire set the interior of the elevator ablaze. "Everyone out, now!" shouted Garrett.

William Rhodes, his friend, was not a well man thought Captain Garland. Coaxing him to leave the body of his fallen mentor had been difficult, but finally a sense of urgency was instilled into the Lieutenant from Garrett's pleas. Great work! Will we still keep the little golden squares beneath the ranking system too?
Haha... he means that you max out at 9 pips at 450, and your tenth pip is the legionnaires crest!
Yeah that sounds like a good idea. The only thing is that the rank of Sergeant looks like an exclamation point!

Stepping into the simulator room I found a familiar battle pod—these pods could replicate all of the conditions in a 'mech battle ranging from heavy impacts to extreme heat. Almost closing the pod's door… I waited for my opponent.

As I proceeded slowly through the forest, I checked my few active sensors for signs of Krystal's Uziel, but without active radar I couldn't count on detecting her until she was almost on top of me. They should try football with Battlemech's next time... I think Solaris VII would have a much larger crowd than the Superbowl.

Hello everyone,

I'm going to be gone for a week starting Saturday and so I have to finish up a lot of stuff inbetween then and now, so my most recent post in the campaign will probably be my last one untill I get back. See all of you in a week!
Well guys it seems that I've become fairly sick so Katrina is going to have to wait - I'm sticking around.
Well man I hope you're cancer free too.
That's awesome! What are the 38 points out of?
Nice vids man! What's the wooden rifle next to your dad?
Glad you're back!
Yeah I read a lot of them... I had to stop because I think they were going to spoil the Classic Battletech series which I'm not done with yet, but I'll be sure to read more DA when I finish with classic. I read up to Target of Opportunity, I think that's the 13th or so, but I bet they have 20 now. Damn I still have to read 33 classic novels first though! I've gotten through 29 of them this year (the past full year not just since jan 1). If you happen to read Sword of Sedition
Yeah you should be there pretty quick then! I loved Patriot's Stand! Have you noticed that nearly all of the women have had red hair in the series?
Who said playing games didn't give you a work out?
Pure Pwnage, gotta love it.
Hi everyone,

I'm going to be gone till the Saturday after next in Mexico. Anyways, I shall see you guys when I get back!
I really liked the OP! I just got back and reading the OP's end was very enjoyable. The posting in that OP really matched in some points how a lot of Battletech authors write which I think is pretty awesome. Thumbs up from me.
Hello all,

I was thinking since we're in-between ops, this would be the perfect time for recruitment. A few new members would bring a lot to the site
Aye. It would be a good merger; the Legionnaires need to increase its size and personnel.
11 days?! You lucky...
Hi everyone,

I'm going to be gone in Texas till Thursday so I'll see you all when I get back. Ben, could you maybe make a pinned post about absences and such so that we don't have to make a new topic each time? Hope all goes well with you guys.

<
Geez Ben, that ellipsis gives it an innuendo….

Hey everyone I'm back!
BTW, are we going to start the next OP soon then?
Hello fellow warriors,

I'm going to be in Japan from the 3rd to 19th of July - I just confirmed the dates today. Sorry to be leaving just as we're getting into this new OP. I might get internet access there... but don't count on it. Please feel free to refer to Garrett or any of my other characters in your posts and such as the OP progresses and I will be sure to post when I get back. If we do infantry stuff don’t forgot to bring Tetsuhara along. Hopefully t
Thanks Ben, I'll continue to post until I leave. One request: please don’t blow up my battlemech—I’ve grown fond of that Shadow Hawk, and I’d like to keep all of my remaining non-synthetic limbs intact. Domo arigato Sho-sa Maxwell-sama.

Ooops, that was me.
Sorry guys for not posting much, I'm in Canada untill the 20th. I might get a post or two in between now and then.
Alright comrades, I’m back from the land of the cannucks.
I'm back and I lied btw, I didn't go to Oregon... I didn't cross the Columbia River so technically, I was still in Washington.
[attachmentid=38]
Yo everyone,

I'm moving tomorrow into my fraternity so don't count on me to post much during the next few days. They'll probably tie me up upside down for a few days. I’ll be all settled though by next week I’m sure.
Our internet still isn't set-up, and I'm still not free from the chains so expect to see me about on monday. I think I get freed on the 24th at 10:00 PM or so.
Sorry guys, I'm still not going to be able to get on the net with any reliability for a few days still. Our connection isn't set up yet and so I have to walk around with a laptop to get a signal from some other poor unsecured fools' network.
Alright, I'm back in business.
Have a great trip wherever you're going Ben. Things are going to be hot when you get back. tongue.gif
That's hot, like tabasco sauce.
Gentlemen, I will be away untill next monday. Happy hunting.
Welcome back!
Welcome back!
I'm going to be in Hawaii for the next week or so (Scuba diving smile.gif) but I'll keep up with the op on my phone. I won't be able to get any long posts in but I can do some small ones on it I think.
Hey guys, just letting you know that I'm back! (For a day, but I'll bring a laptop with me next time.)
Desperado, I hope everything goes well for you and Keith I'm glad that the computer is personal once again. I'm back btw now.
Luck!
Great! I will keep my eyes open for it.
I know we've got a new OP starting up soon, so I just thought I'd let you guys know that I'm going to be gone from the 19th to the 29th. If something needs doing from Garland or any of my minor characters please feel free have them do it.
Do you have a core system so that you can't download the emulation stuff for MA2 on your 360, or does it really just not work at all?
Ketih man I spend all my time oblivinating! I love that game!
That was awesome man! I'll take some old Mechwarrior 2 clips so you can show where the real action is at! smile.gif

You'd think that ; ) would make a winking smiley... but it makes this wink.gif.
You lucky, lucky, bastard. Another month for me.
Hah, well hopefully my character doesn't live long enough to participate in the DA site, ninety-five is a tad old for a warrior, but I might make a new one there. I'll probably wait till summer though.
Perhaps 3136?
Hah, well I guess I'm honored that you like my name (my character's that is) so much!
Wow I didn't realize you'd been in the hospital this whole time! Get better soon.

Yes, I too am glad that you made it through safely, but only for the most part - there is a small part of me that is not glad by this.
Well mine just tipped it again. Here's the thing though, the site doesn't get enough new members because Battletech isn't that popular these days, and more importantly, that no one knows about it. It was by complete luck that I saw a little post on the mektek forums awhile back that drew me here. All websites lose members, but the ones that live have a postive ratio in members lost to members gained. In fact, this site has had incredible dedication by its few members, and so if more

Ben, I'm embarrassed to say it, but I never beat Fallout 2, I didn’t get too far into it. How does its story compare to the first—better or worse? I don't know if I have a favorite, each is so distinct. I love the periphery for our purposes because there's a lot of playing room there, and it's like its own mini-InnerSphere. Which Katrina? There are two, one known to Victor as Katherine, his sister, the other his grandmother who was quite fine back in her day tongue.gif. I always thought she and Hanse could have had something, but alas, he went down another generation.

Alright Mercenaries,

I know the pay has been slim, and we've taken losses, so lets get back on our feet and make some C-Bills.
I would like to report that it is 3:42 in the morning, and all is well.
4:54, and all is well, but it is less well than it was at 3:42. Damn, now it's 4:55.
Like many, bile rose in my throat as the jump completed, but not enough to warrant more than a quick cough to clear the discomfort. Minutes later I found myself no longer in a perpetual freefall, but instead firmly grounded on the decking, a solid one gravitational force carrying me towards ‘The Mercenary’s Star.’ Though the world had recently seen a few rough decades, I was still enamored by its rich history, where units like
The Verdun was an awesome sight as I traveled towards it, carried by the powerful lifting fans of one of our very own Savannah Masters. My craft, driven by a very excited Yeoman Hobson, was flanked on either side by two other Savannah Masters, also belonging to the Legionnaires. Our small vehicle pool would make an excellent addition to the unit, providing mobility outside of Battlemechs. Still inside the Verdun were several other ve
The quintet of light Battlemechs approaching the ship brought a smile to my lips; most of the Mechwarriors were unavailable to pilot the smaller machines from the warehouse to the ship. A Locust, a Stinger, and a Wasp all moved ungainly towards the ship, the Battlemechs making unsure steps, though not falling. However, the lead ‘mech, and other Locust moved unlike the others, each step made with confid
The Savannah Master glided across the tarmac on a skirt of air, the ferrocrete cooling in the night from the hot sun and the heat-wash of many DropShips. Surprisingly I caught a breeze of a sweet scent in the air, something I wouldn’t imagine in a spaceport, let alone Galatea. Perhaps one of the infantrymen, or women, had already prepared to take some shore leave later in the night—I had granted several days worth to near
The brandy swirled gently in the glass as I started into it—its amber hues glowing from the bar light. Strange shadows played over people sitting at the bar considering that their faces were lit from below instead of above—the light bright and white, unlike the natural yellow shades of the sun. I had sent the others back to the Dauntless and had given them leave; I was taking mine here. For the most part, I was disappointed in ou
“Captain, Charles Maxwell needs to speak to you, he says it’s urgent.”

“I’ll be back to the spaceport in ten.”

“Yes, sir.”

[color=#FF0000]This was perhaps the strangest thing I had ever encountered in my life—but if this was Ben—or at least his reincarnation, then what could I do? He deserved something at the very least.

“The light lance is yours, Phoenix.”

Just then Desperado walked into the room.Forester and I were meandering throughout Galaport, looking for leads on military hardware when my comm chirped. "Captain I have a 'Mech and some equipment here that I need to get. Can I get the transfer of C-bills?"

Damn, that was fast…

Edgads, can I safely read this?
Ah, trust me, I'm knerd. I'm not through the series yet, still finishing up the Twilight of the Clans, and the fedcom war hasn't started yet... so am I going to learn about that war's results and stuff?
Where art thou?
Where? Oh...
Uh... what's up?

All MechWarriors report for duty. Please indicate your Battlemech preference, light, medium, or heavy. (This will determine your lance and 'mech. And we need to know how many MechWarriors we have to construct a proper company.)

Heh, sorry for the snide comment btw. For this OP, I was thinking that we'd pilot some of the older style 'mechs - we're a little strapped for cash right now and can't afford some of the newer styles GDL Core and Clan technologies. I was thinking we keep it all level 1 tech essentially. If you're really adament about the Raptor that would be no problem though.
Of course you can give loadouts! The only trouble is that those damn 'Mech suppliers on Galatea have such steep prices in this day and age... terrible if we couldn't afford newer technology... biggrin.gif

Keep the list coming boys. If you want a surprise, just say the class of ‘Mech you wish to pilot. And I’ll let my Battlemech be randomly selected from a h

1. I am greatful for hot and heavy InnerSphere battlemechs, which overheated with ease, were hotter than the hottest saunas after a heavy weapons barage, and had the range of peashooters. Hello all,

I would just like to point out that we've touched down on Galatea. Since we don't yet have an employer our OP hasn't begun, but I would like to take this time to organize the Legionnaires. Those of you who want specific battlemechs might take this time to locate them on-world. We have limited funds, so I can only approve of light, heavy, and medium 'mechs, and only those of older, Inner Sphere designs. Our roster right now has 8 mechwarriors, which I hope wi
Hello all,

Since our new DropShip is going to be our wonderful home, I thought that everyone should have a say in it's name. I don't particularly like the name Verdun, and so I was hoping we could together name the ship. Please give a name that you'd like.

Revision: Pequod The name of Captain Ahab's ship from "Moby Dick"
I'll hold this open untill tomorrow night and then I'll ad a poll with everyones names and keep that open for two days.
Let our beautiful craft be christened with a fitting name. And remember, if a name doesn't make it for our ship, who's to say that it will not apear at some other point in the future.

EDIT BY MOD: Added 'S.S More Powerful Than Superman, Spider Man and The Incredible Hulk Put Together' and 'BUSHIDO.'
In that case, mod, then we should have Tyler Durden. But as far as I can tell, we're going to have a tie, so a poll with only two choices would be in order.
Alright, tonight I'm going to remake the poll with the tied choices if we don't have a winner.
For those of you that live in Democracies, this should be familiar.
What does island mean? Like, an island, completly surrounded by water? tongue.gif
Alright, tomorrow night, our ship's name's fate shall be sealed.

Really? I thought that the Tyler Durden had it on lockdown.
Hey guys, the OP will start today... as long as you live in whatever timezone you hit right before the international date-line. I'm getting back late and you probably don't want the intro post from a cell-phone.
Well, I hope all goes well for you. And the OP will become a real OP quite soon, don't worry.
[attachmentid=66]
Looks like a 900 to me. tongue.gif
Very soon. I'm kind of hoping to wait untill thursday to actually start the OP because this is finals week for me (my last final is on wendsday... got killed by a math final yesterday). Also, it looks like not everyone has wraped up their stories on Galatea yet. Once the OP starts though it will go in full force.
The OP will be starting on Thursday for sure. Assuming that I survive the rest of my finals... tongue.gif

Please take this time to finish up an side stories within the OP. And if you can find a cool way to get yourself a Battlemech... go for it.
Sweet man, I'm glad to have you. Mech preference? Has to be inner sphere, old school.
Indeed you did, and it shall be provided.

The evening was beginning to wind down, and no doubt many of the party’s guests would find that a bed which housed a single occupant the night before now possessed two, not that the bed would be crowded in the least; the palace’s rooms were quite lavish. As the infantry team prepared to leave, the Legionnaires began to doze off, one by one, snores coming from more than a few. Sleep came easy to most, helped by the thick, warm air, courtesy of the fire’s ever dying embers. Don't worry guys, you won't have to hold it for too much longer. I shall not rest tonight untill this OP has begun. And I promise it'll be worth it - you're going enjoy this world.
Hey guys, I'm in a wind storm right now... and the lights are flickering and it just said lost connection but now it's working again. Just letting you know...
Well, my five hour intro post creation marathon came to a close at aproximately 4:30 am this morning. I hope you guys enjoy. Vivarais exists just for our purposes so you won't find it on a map. I didn't want to mess up the Battletech time-line at all by messing with one of the established worlds too much.
Thanks a lot, I just followed the excellent template which you established.
Hey guys,

I would like to encourage everyone to include images or art in their posts if they think it's relevant. I know some of you guys are artists out there and I think it adds a lot to the OP when we have pictures too. Unfortunately my main computer is not working right now, and I had some additional art prepared on there for the OP, but I hope that I can get that in by the time it becomes relevant to post. And thanks for the picture of Paradise Sona.
Greetings all,

Well, in my last post I commented on how my internet was down and then, in true Christmas spirit, I was blessed with a power outage shortly afterwards. My computer was also cooked in an earlier power outage, so I'm still ordering parts for a new one - which is going to own btw.

Anyways, just letting you know that I am once again among the living.
Now that's what I call music.
Have a Merry Christmas my literary warriors, I hope that it truly goes well for all of you.
Hello all,

Unfortunately, it seems, I've been calling the Magistracy of Canopus the Magistry of Canopus. I knew something was wrong because word did not recognize the word Magistry, and did recognize the word Magistracy, but my JumpShip path map called it the Magistry. However, I was reading my Periphery Sourcebook today and I was unpleasantly surprised to find that I have been misspelling the name of our beloved destination, so let it be known that it is in fact Magistracy. Happy New Years guys, I just woke up tongue.gif.
I think we're just being passed over by bots. If you notice, one posted a little something in the future OPs section. And btw, I will get our OP back on track soon, I'm moving back in to my fraternity today and then my winter quarter starts tomorrow, so might be a day or two, but I promise that when I bring it, it will be hot tongue.gif
Hey guys,

If you guys think the OP gets stuck at any point or something of that nature, please send me a PM or post in this thread... I just don't want to go to a new story point unless everyone is done posting for that point.
Rhodes seriously did fall off the face of the earth. I e-mailed him a few weeks after he disapeared and I think I got a return on his e-mail... like he deleted the acount or something.
Not that I know of. Too bad, because he was a wicked sick poster.
All I know is... the more the merrier. Well, after 20 we'd be getting a little crowded actually tongue.gif.
Hey guys,

Out of curiosity what screen resolution does everyone use? If I'm going to be adding additional media to this OP, or future OPs, I would like to know how I should size things. I didn't include a poll because I know that there are many different resolutions, especially when you start figuring in aspect ratios. If you don't know how to check your screen resolution, right click on the desktop and select properties. Go to the settings tab. Then, there should be a sli

The op is still in its infancy, much more blood is to be shed. However, we are going to be peaceful for a little while as we have been invited, by the Governess herself to a banquet to celebrate all of us warriors. Harris and Reade now make up our fourth lance: aquiline with Reade being Aquiline-1.
Damn guys. So I spent a good two hours drawing a map of the Great Gash, aka Paradise Valley today. However, taking a look at my work from afar, it looks, for lack of a better word, like a vagina.
I did. And in the future I'll send them to the Ben acount. We'll use the idea in the earlier PM later in the OP then if that's alright with you?
Well, it is a pleasure world after all...

And don't forget my fellow warriors... the Canopians treat their protectors very, very well.
Hmmm... what to kill it within arm's reach... I have a pound or two crystal paperweight, a 3 inch folding blade, or a naughty little 1 inch fixed blade... very good for fighting. So many choices... Maybe ignite it with a can of butane beneath my desk?
Happy Birthday Ben! May all of your wildest dreams come true!
Hello all,

I'm just curious as to which timezone everyone lives in.

I live in GMT-8 or PST.
Huh? I'm pacific dude!
I guess I can forgive you this time...
I posted a little guide for the next few posts in the story in the mission planning forum if anyone didn't notice.
Ah... sorry I assumed that you had... clearance. The OPXI forum uses the same password as the general mission planning forum.
Indeed. The mission planning forum's post goes a little farther into the future than what most people would want to know I think, but here's a little guidance. Legionnaires, make your way to the vehicle bay, we’re all going to be sharing a ride, an APC to be precise. I have to add an I'm sorry too to this... school and other stuff have been keeping me really busy as of late, but I will get the OP a rolling tonight.
Argh, it would seem I lied, tomorrow the post will be.
Alright guys, I just finished my finals this morning, and I realize that I'm the reason why our op has stagnated, but I have a week and a half of absolute freedom so I'm going to make sure that everything gets moving again.

Alright. So what has happened since our little sortie in the palace you ask?

We escape the palace, and the gash all together in an APC and go out into the desolate expanse. There, we find a pressure dome occupied by one of the planet's aristocracy who shelters us and equips us with a battlemech - for racing. We then make a move to get our own battlemechs back which we left at the palace by using the racing mech, piloted by phoenix as a distraction, and by calling in the Dauntless
Have a great Easter everyone!
Most of my experience is in Java, but I've done a little bit of C. What does the program need to do?
Is this a first or second level course btw? And what part do you need help with?
I don't remember doing 'cases' like this in Java, I think C and java must work differently here. It looks though like most of the code is given to you in the 'This program may use logic similar to:' section.
Only the starlight of the Vivarian system illuminated my cabin through its small window, a porthole really, barely enough to cause the steel blinds to cast shadows throughout the room. The Fortress class DropShip truly was sturdy, though it made sacrifices to maintain its strength. There were too many exposed reinforcement struts, too many sharp edges, and too much metal. Funny that such things would bother a MechWarrior, bein
"Well, being as the Dauntless is closest thing we have to home, and that we need to bring ourselves up to full strength once more, I’ve made arrangements to head back to Galatea. The Dauntless rattled as her huge mass displaced Galatea’s atmosphere, her hardy engines staving off much of gravity’s pull. My question was simple and short. "Major, is the Astrid capable of defending itself while grounded in any fashion?"
“Sir,” I motioned and the Major acknowledged, “will we wait until Saxon’s force has settled on Tau Centauri, or are the Nova Cats going to engage them during descent with their AeroFighter Wing?”

DropShips were almost as vulnerable during descent as they were once settled down—perhaps even more so because an engine

Very good sir, very good. This is my post 400.
I play a bit in the way of flight sims, and though I try not to let people see me doing this... I have a little thing that looks like a webcam on top of my monitor called a trackir. There's a little clip you attach to your headphones and it tracks three points of infared light to replicate your head movements in game. It is... for lack of a better word, incredible. It even works in an FPS, ArmA, but it's mostly for flight sims.

Ben is site admin so he's the Khan
Garret has some admin function as far as I can tell so hes like the saKahn
I'm just a grizzled ancient who was here long before OP:I, I guess I'm like the Loremaster

Don't be silly Desperado, you're getting a regiment!
Ben, what are your thoughts on this?

What type of ranking system are you guys wanting to go with?

I can't find anything specific about the ranking system used by any of the Great Houses in the Battletech info that I have. I've currently 'misplaced'
I like Guman's set-up, but I think we should keep the rank of Captain. The commander could simply be the highest ranking Legionnaire.
I agree with Wedge, some lower ranks like that would be nice, but I don't think MechWarrior should be a rank, we are all MechWarriors. Private should take its place.
Congrats Wedge, now you can watch rated R movies and buy M-rated games; the world is yours.

17 was tough for me. I left home and became my own man that year, hard stuff.

You only grow stronger now.

Untill you get old and die that is...
This is to the other mods and anyone that wants to send me a PM. If you see a big mistake like I missed closing a tag so something is the wrong color or a bunch of stuff is italiczied, let me know, and if you’ve got moderator privledges feel free to throw in a fix. Would other members of the site feel ok with mods fixing tagging and color problems if they occur?
3001?
So, are we currently on Tau Ceti IV, or Sheratan? We've got the two cantinas going on right now and I'm not quite sure which to post in.
Very good to have you here Drake, nice load-out btw.
Drake, which novels have you read? I'm a huge btech novel fan...
Yeah, it was not easy acquiring my collection. Over the past couple of years I managed to get all of the classic battletech novels along with the dark age stuff. I can’t believe that measure of a hero was your first btech book because… I have that on my nightstand right now! That’s exactly where I’ve gotten in the series. 51 down, 12 to go!
Certainly, many of the members have multiple characters. Tetsuhara is my main other character, and I've had a few different ones over the years, though they usually serve temporary purposes. For awhile I had an aerospace pilot, and Tetsuhara is a scout/infantryman guy. I just thought it would be better to send in a badass commando into ground combat versus a MechWarrior.
Drake, if you want to make a dossier for your character that would be awesome! The dossier's are in the databank section on the site (they seem to kind have fallen by the way-side, but I'd love to see more of them for various characters).

Also, I won't be able to join you guys for the first week or so of the op. (The mountains are calling). But I will be here in full force at the begining of September if not late August. I'm going to have my normal computer up and
Awesome! Maybe Drake and Garland will have some beef... Garrett is from Sommerset afterall... and I do believe that Sommerset lies in the Lyran Commonwealth. (This will, of course, have to wait until I've read the books concerning the FedCom Civil war and then we can be at odds tongue.gif)
Hah, no he doesn't... at least not any more than Adam Steiner from the cartoon (which is hosted on the site somewhere I think). I'm just popping in for a second, but I will be back after a short expedition.
I've also really enjoyed the kotor series and I hope that mass effect is as good as both kotors. I kind of spent a little too much time in my hotel room instead of on the beach several years ago in hawaii due to kotor...
I too will be back in action soon, just getting everything squared away.
Hey guys,

Was very glad to get all of these e-mails and very surprised! I'm back and down for a restart.
Hah, and I was wondering if maybe I could have a demotion! Or something like that. We'll have to get the hierarchy figured out.
Thanks for the birthday wishes! I'm about ready to get back in (I'll update my character and all that good stuff). I had a bunch of animations due tonight (lame being as that it was my birthday and I realize I should have been asleep like 4 hours ago) but soon I'm back into things. One thing that I'm going to try and do as Kintaro is doing is do some art for my posts.

PS: Celina where'd you get your avatar from? I feel like I've seen that before.
Hey guys,

Just letting you know I'm still onboard; just been getting decimated by school/work this past week (hence me being up at 5:15 am). Count me in for the OP starting this weekend.
As always I was impressed with the scale of machines we worked with. My Battlemech's cockpit rattled from a gust of wind as Hammer lance deployed, my own 'mech now next in line for a drop. It took only seconds to cross over the city though we were too far up for me to make out any detail aside from the buildings. I felt like I could already smell the planet though I had checked to make sure my Shadow Hawk'
What the hell?

As soon as I landed lights on my board began flashing and I saw my anti-missile system come to life but my sensors were completely without contacts. I heard the little machine mounted on my battlemech's shoulder wake from its standby lull and prepare to issue forth tiny shards of metal but I saw no incoming missiles or even a flock of birds. I had read reports in fact that birds had trigged AMS be
Some CRAZY DATA!

So... I thought that I would add up the word count of all of my posts both on crayven and comstar proboards (the old legionnaire site).

I reduced the word count by 15% to account for my signature.
