Future of crayven.net

With the recent steep decline in participation here at www.crayven.net, and the apparent lack of interest in the roleplaying aspect of BattleTech in the community as a whole, the question has presented itself as to whether or not there is any interest in keeping this site going. If a decision is made to retire the site, it will still remain here for archival purposes - it would simply no longer be active.

I will abstain from voting until the first few ballots have been cast so as not to influence anyone's votes.

You need not comment if you do not wish to - all I ask is that you vote. All votes will remain confidential.
I just havent been able to post lately because of work, hanging out with my girlfriend, and getting things finalized before I leave for Kansas State. Ill be sure to get a post up soon. But dont close down the site.

I saw this earlier and it took me a few moments to think of a reply. My vote was obviously no, however i didnt know what to say.

If i found out this site was to be closed, id be gutted. In all honesty i absolutely love this site. I might not be the most knowledgeable in battletech, but i sure as hell love writing along side fantastic and imaginative minds like yourselves.

The site is just going through a rough time. Im in the middle of choosing a path in my life. Its a very difficult choice, one that i cannot choose until some very stressful days pass. Alex has some busy moments in his life. Garland is away doing other busy things. Wedge has dropped off the face of the world apparently and so has Rhodes. Unfortunate as that is, it doesnt mean that we should stop the site. Its slow, but im sure we will find more people.

Im not the begging type, but I im left with no choice. Please, dont retire the site.
Maybe some recruiting is in order.

Okay, I know there is a confident vote ruling here, but I cant help but get the feeling someone is using multiple accounts to vote more than once on this. Call me a whatever names you like, but I cant honestly think that there are more people wanting to close this than there are people wanting to keep this site open.

Now IF someone IS using multiple accounts, I will be quite disappointed.

If those are genuine votes, then I have to say I'm shocked that anyone would vote yes.
Well mine just tipped it again. Here's the thing though, the site doesn't get enough new members because Battletech isn't that popular these days, and more importantly, that no one knows about it. It was by complete luck that I saw a little post on the mektek forums awhile back that drew me here. All websites lose members, but the ones that live have a postive ratio in members lost to members gained. In fact, this site has had incredible dedication by its few members, and so if more were to join with equal or even half that dedication, it would make the site incredibly strong. I hope this site is still around when I'm back.
I feel that sometime, the site will close. Its founders and supporters will feel that they should no longer pay for upkeep, which I can understand. I do support payment and would throw in all the quarters that I could spare, unfortunately, my family and I cannot pay for "Miscelanious" pleasures, such as stuff like this. I am sure its supporters share the same struggle, or come close to it. Its supporters have worked hard, and for that, I am forever in debt of their commitment. If the financial status is becoming a problem, then I feel it may be time to let it go, however.

I do, however love this website. I am intrested in Battletech, and would like to go on. Unfortunately, I am working very hard, and using my spare time in other more productive activites, like exorcising and readying for the next year of Basketball and band. I do not feel as though we should shut down this website, although I cannot certainly said how long I may be a full time member, if I am not already below that stage. I wish that the site may long be in service, and that the Battletech history lives on within it. If battletech history would be depleted from even its own platforms of play or practice, I pray that its history may live on within a fan RP database.

I voted no.
Thanks for everyone's input. I think we've got a good thing going here, and I'm pleased to see that people want to carry on. And so we shall!
